Advent Quiet Day provides opportunity for reflection

by Lara Lowman

The Rev. Bill Payton, priest associate at the Cathedral of St. Philip, will lead an Advent Quiet Day on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Cathedral's Lanier House, 2744 Peachtree Road, Atlanta. Episcopalians from throughout the diocese, especially those who have not attended a quiet day, are encouraged to step away from daily and seasonal activities for a time of relaxation, prayer, guided quiet and optional sharing. This is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the deeper meaning of this season as we prepare for celebration of the Christmas festival. A $10 fee covers lunch, light snacks, and drinks. You may pay the $10 fee when you register at http://www. stphilipscathedral.org/calendar/newcalendar.html. Registration ends Nov. 30. If you have questions, or to register over the phone, please contact Margaret Lias, 404-365-1034 or mlias@stphilipscathedral.org. The Cathedral's Advent Quiet Day is sponsored by the Office of Pastoral Care and Daughters of the King.
